Save This Summer With USPS

Postage Discount
The U.S. Postal Service is offering a small discount on postage when mail features a QR code or other mobile marketing technology. The 2% discount applies to presorted and automated first-class and standard mail letters, flats and cards.

To qualify for the discount, the mail piece must include a mobile barcode (or QR code) that leads recipients to a mobile-optimized Web page to purchase a product or service featured in the mailing, or lead to a personalized URL (PURL) that is unique to the individual.

This promotion runs July 1 – August 31, 2012, and may be subject to additional qualifications.

Every Door Direct Mail
Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) is a great solution for any business owner or marketing professional without a bulk mail permit. EDDM allows you to mail with postage as low as 14.5 cents per piece. The USPS created this program to promote small-business mailings and the use of direct mail as an affordable marketing channel.

A marketer can target areas based on carrier routes and send mail to every household in a certain area. The program applies to flat-sized pieces only and limits the number of pieces per post office per day. Minimum amounts also apply.

While a permit is not required, you will need a Customer Registration ID, or CRID#, which is available for no cost.

Here is a link to the EDDM website.

Contact your USPS representative or Infinity Direct for more information regarding these opportunities for savings this summer.
